Sophie Nguyen Architects Ltd
About this Company:
Sophie is a RIBA chartered architect with extensive experience in small and large residential projects. She has also gained urban planning experience through her position on the Architects Advisory Panel for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea since 2008. Sophie established her own company in 2003 after working at Richard Rogers Partnership for five years. During her time there, she was shortlisted for the Young Architect of the Year award in 1997. Prior to that, she worked at Ibos et Vitart Architects in Paris, where she served as the Project Architect for the Extension and Museum display of the Musee des Beaux-Arts in Lille. This project won the Building of the Year award in 1997 and the DuPont Benedictus prize in 1998. Sophie’s practice is based in London and has completed various built projects at the domestic scale, as well as collaborating with Arup Consulting Engineers on several studies. Some of her recent projects include two houses in North Kensington, an apartment in Paris, and a house in Brixton. In 2013, Sophie’s installation of a new basement in her own house was featured in The Guardian under the title ‘Dig for Victory’. Her company, London Art De Vivre, was commended for The Sunday Times British Homes Awards in 2015. Currently, Sophie’s company is working on refurbishing two houses in Central London, extending a house in the Midlands, and proposing the refurbishment of a residential building in Soho, London. They offer a range of architectural services, from design studies to construction and completion, and are open to discussing any potential projects.
